HALSTEAD—Halstead High School’s winter homecoming has been in full swing this week with the theme of “versus.” Each day students have been dividing up and choosing one of two options to dress up for each spirit day.

Monday’s spirit day was 70s vs. 90s, and Tuesday was city vs. country. On Wednesday students emulated the proverbial jocks vs. nerds, and Thursday’s rivalry is of dresses vs. suits.

Throughout the week there have been class competitions where students can win points for their class by participating in these dress-up days, being involved with their class cheer and making posters to hang in the gym.

All this is leading up to Friday’s theme of Dragons vs. Cardinals to pump students up for that evening’s home basketball games against the Hoisington Cardinals.

Coronation of the winter homecoming king and queen will take place between the girls and boys varsity games. Candidates for queen are seniors Cara Weber, Kaytlynn Millspaugh and Daphne Williams. They will be escorted by king candidates Vinton Robuck, Kason O’Neal and Baylor Bohling.

After the boys game will be a homecoming dance, open to all Halstead High School students.
